The Brooklyn, NY group, Vivian Girls, dropped by hipster crowding basement of Parts and Labour Friday night. Although the show wasn’t packed by any means, it felt claustrophobic as the space in the basement was pretty tight. It was shoulder to shoulder at the front and the ceiling is rather short for a venue. They did have step benches on the far right of the makeshift plywood stage. It’s really too bad though, the Vivian Girls put on a decent performance after a brief stint trying to get the vocals right, and I’m not quite sure if they ended up fixing it in the end as I had to leave early after the first few songs. They are currently touring their 3rd album, Share the Joy. Check it out!
